Incline Lake - First Snow Shoes - NV

First Snow Shoeing Adventure
"Hiking with snowshoes is like hiking - only harder."
We are discovering that hiking in the snow is generally just more effort. Once the snow gets deep enough though, hiking in the snow without snowshoes is pretty much be impossible. With snowshoes, we get a great workout and still get to see beautiful places.

The clouds started to roll in towards the end of our hike.

The big snowfield is actually Incline Lake. It was frozen. The snow was 15 inches deep in the shallow places, but up to about 3 feet in the deepest spots. We watched several people cross over the lake before we ventured across.

Snow bunny tracks below.

A hiking pole was here.

Other people walking across the lake. No one fell in. :)
