Helicopter Ride! - Kaua'i

 We booked this only a few days before the flight, and the original day of the weather won the day and it was canceled. Happily, there was one slot left the last full afternoon we were there.


Everybody got a bit queasy at some point during the flight. As usual, Seth felt it the hardest. This was before he really started to green up. 




Waimea Canyon from the air was amazing. Our pilot took us all down into the canyon between the walls, and then into the cinder cone of the main volcano. There were many beautiful waterfalls that we got to see which are not really accessible in any other way - certainly never by car, and by foot would be treacherous.

Many rainbows were had.

The Napali Coast from several hundred yards offshore in the air. There are boat tours to take a person into the caves along and below the coastline.

Lora's hat went all Uncle Lester and jumped over the side between the last picture and this one. It just wanted to start the next adventure early. This was a bit of instant karma, she laughed and pointed when my hat flew off but I caught it, and her hat was immediately blown from her head into the ocean. RIP, favorite hat.
