Alltrails said this was a 4.3 mile trail, but it's super easy to go further on this trail or go rouge on several of the intersecting trails. We ended up going about 6 miles, with only one slight known detour. The snow was about 15 inches deep in some parts, but less in other parts. The great majority of the trail was covered with either ice or snow today, but the weather was perfect. The temperature was in the mid 40's with barely any wind.
We weren't sure if this was a some kind of weird root ball that grew out of the side of the tree or a massive nest for an unknown large creature. We did see another tree on the trail with a similar "nest."
