Off the back porch - August-September 2021

 Lots of smoke from wildfires over the summer. We've had some nice sunsets, but also lots of days where there's been obstructed views. We've also started landscaping construction - it will take some time, but we are excited to see the yard turn into something beautiful.

The first few photos were a particularly beautiful summer night. Unfortunately, Aunt Deanna had left right before while the city was covered in smoke. We think she would have loved to see it in person.

Incline Lake to Third Peak trail - Incline, NV

 This was a beautiful, short hike. We started at Incline Lake, and had intended to take a previous trail. The lateness of the day and it being our first time out in awhile, we tired quickly and decided to change course. That's one of the beautiful things about this area, there's nearly always a way to modify the plan and still see pretty things. There's lots of trails that intersect, and with a couple of minutes of investigation, there's usually a few options to fit the daylight remaining.


The aspens are beginning to turn. Over the next month they'll be spectacular.
